Vaccination Policy

NetPLUS College has implemented a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy in response to the recent rise in COVID-19 cases, in consultation with public health authorities and at the direction of the province of Ontario. The policy applies to all students, employees contractors, and official visitors who are attending a NetPLUS College as of September 7, 2021.

In accordance with NetPLUS College’s duty to provide and maintain a place for students that is free of known hazards, we are adopting this policy to safeguard the health of our students and employees; Our students and visitors; and the community at large from infectious diseases, such as COVID-19 or influenza, that may be reduced by vaccinations. This policy will comply with all applicable laws and is based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and local health authorities, as applicable.

All students and employees are required to receive vaccinations as determined by NetPLUS College, unless a reasonable accommodation is approved. Students not in compliance with this policy will be placed on unpaid leave until their employment status is determined by the human resources department.

Students needs to submit a proof of the vaccination to the College and then wait for the response from our college. You will be notified by the College  when your proof is validated by the Government .

COVID-19 vaccinations are free, whether an individual has health insurance or not. When not received in-house, vaccinations should be run through your health insurance and be submitted for reimbursement where applicable.

Students and employees are supposed to schedule an appropriate time to comply with this policy.

Before the stated deadlines to be vaccinated have expired, students and employees will be required to provide either proof of vaccination or an approved reasonable accommodation to be exempted from the requirements.

If you are not fully vaccinated or are seeking an exemption by September 7th ;

Until you are fully vaccinated or have an approved exemption, you are required to have proof of a negative COVID-19 test in order to attend NetPLUS College. This can be done with a hard copy or email result of the negative test taken within the 72 hours prior to attending campus. Valid proof of a negative COVID-19 test (PCR or rapid antigen) must clearly show the individual’s name, type of COVID-19 test performed, date and time of the test, and the negative result.

The goal of the program is to identify asymptomatic or pre-symptomatic cases of COVID-19 in the workplace that might otherwise be missed, helping to curb the spread in the workplace, at home and around the community. We have also clarified that the kits can be used to test students who are not fully vaccinated in addition to employees who are not fully vaccinated.


Will NetPLUS College require proof of vaccination for staff or students to attend ?

Yes, students, employees, contractors and visitors coming to NetPLUS College will be required to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated or have received an exemption from the College based on human rights (including medical) or conscientious grounds.

As a first step in implementing this policy, students and employees will need to declare their vaccination status by September 7th . The form was sent by email to employees and students at the end of August. Those who are not partially or fully vaccinated will be required to begin an application for exemption.

Proof of full vaccination must be provided by October 18, 2021. We will share details early in the Fall term about the process for providing that proof. The process will ensure that any personal health information submitted to the College will be secure and confidential.

How do I submit my vaccination proof ?

What is a valid proof of vaccination ?

A valid proof of vaccination includes:

  • Receipt from issuing vaccination clinic or pharmacy
  • An electric vaccine receipt issued by the government of Ontario or another province
  • A record of each dose of your vaccination, such a receipt, card or confirmation from an international organization in English, or with a certified English translation.

The name of the vaccine and number of doses must correspond to the information below. People are considered fully vaccinated 14 days after their second dose in a two-dose series, or one dose from Janssen.

Only the following COVID-19 vaccine proof are accepted: COVID-19:

  • AstraZeneca/COVISHIELD (2)
  • Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) (1)
  • Moderna (2)
  • Pfizer-BioNTech (2)
  • Sinopharm (2)
  • Sinovac (2)

Who is required to show proof of vaccination ?

All college community members or visitors who wish to access a NetPLUS College, including employees and students, must provide proof of vaccination.

When does this policy take effect ?

The policy is in effect as of the first day of the fall term, September 7, 2021.  Students and employees must have send the proof of vaccination to before 3 days to attend a class in NetPLUS College and for those seeking an exemption, begun that process. All Humber community members must provide proof of vaccination or have secured an approved exemption by October 18, 2021.

How do I find proof of my vaccination ?

In Ontario, you can download your vaccination receipt from the province’s COVID-19 website.

In other provinces and countries, please check with your local health authorities for more information.

How long will the exemption request take ?

Requests for exemptions must be submitted before 3 days to attend a class in NetPLUS College . The college will endeavor to review all exemption requests in a timely manner.
